Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development is a private, non-profit organization established in 1995 by His Highness The Amir, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani. Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned is the chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and personally guides the organization’s direction and programs.
Qatar Foundation’s mission is to prepare the people of Qatar and the region to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world, and to make Qatar a leader in innovative education and research. In achieving this mission, the Foundation adheres to the principle that a nation’s greatest natural resource is its people.
Many of Qatar Foundation’s member organizations are located in Education City. Situated on the periphery of Doha, the site covers 14 million square meters and houses educational facilities which range from school age to research level, including branch campuses of some of the world’s leading universities. This bold venture aims to be the blueprint for academic excellence in the GCC by instructing students in subjects of critical importance to the region.
Education City is also conceived of as a forum, where universities can share facilities and research and forge relationships with businesses and other institutions. Qatar Science and Technology Park and Sidra Medical and Research Center are two of the latest developments in Qatar Foundation’s strategy to transform the country into one of the world’s leading knowledge-based societies.

Qatar Petroleum

QatarPetroleum(QP)is a state-owned corporation established by Emiri Decree No.10 in1974 and is responsible for all phases of the oil and gas industry in Qatar.The Chairman and Managing Director of the corporation is H.E. Abdullah Bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, Deputy Premier and Minister of Energy and Industry.
The principal activities of QP and it’s affiliated companies covers exploration, drilling and production operations, transport, storage, marketing and the sale of crude oil, natural gas liquids, liquid natural gas, gas-to-liquid fuels, rened products, petrochemicals and fertilizers, and providing helicopter services.Qatar Petroleum strategy of conducting hydro carbon exploration and new projects is through exploration, development and production sharing agreements with major international oil and gas companies.The operations and activities of Qatar Petroleum are conducted at various onshore locations, which include Doha, Dukhan, Mesaieed and Ras Laffan industrial cities, as well as offshore including offshore production stations, drilling platforms and the North Gas Field as well as Halul Island.

The Corporation is a leading partner in the Energy and Industry Sector Five-year Strategic Qatarization Plan and continues to achieve progress in terms of mobilization of resources, close liaison and coordination between the Energy and Industry Sector and other ministries and the local education community, to ensure a better understanding between the Corporation demands and the Qatari supply.
Qatarization at QP is stated as one of the Corporate Objectives. QP’s focus is on Quality Qatarization. The Corporation is committed to Qatarization and the requirement to identify and prepare quality Qataris to meet the demands of the various elements of its business.
Departments regularly review their Qatarization plans and translate these plans into practical and realistic actions through a number of training and development activities. Industrial and Vocational Programs
Corporate Training (CT) plays an important role by recruiting several hundreds of Qatari students each year as Trainees and provides them with effective high quality training programs to meet the Qatarization needs. Plans are in place in Qatar Petroleum for new, state of the art training facilities in Dukhan, Mesaieed, Ras Laffan and Doha.
CT has also adopted an e-learning management system giving access to employees to enhance their skills through using this flexible training media.
Student Internships
The Corporation supports student internship programs for high school and university students. The programs reinforce the value of students. understanding of the work environment, and helps them gain an appreciation of the required skills and expectations. This experience is essential to improving the transition from student to employee.
Qatar University
Founded in 1977, Qatar University (QU)is Qatar’s leading institution of higher education committed to fostering an intellectual and scholarly community characterized by teaching excellence as well as free and respectful exchange of ideas. QU deeply believes in the necessity to serve the needs of its students and the requirements of the Qatari community and labor market. It offers over 60 academic programs in six colleges: the College of Education, the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Shariaa and Islamic Studies, the College of Engineering, the College of Business and Economics, and the College of Law.
Among institutions of higher education in Qatar, QU offers the widest and most diverse range of academic programs that support the University’s interdisciplinary approach by emphasizing collaborative inquiry and fostering a true learning community with the aim to develop the skills students need to function well in a complex, team -oriented workplace.

Ministry of Labour
"Work Is a Right and Duty"
The Ministry of Labour is responsible for operating the Qatari Labour Market through managing recruitment of workers and the employment of citizens and other nationalities for all sectors. This includes:
1. Qatarization, creation of job opportunities for citizens in public, joint and private sectors.
2. Registration of citizens seeking work and search for jobs commensurate with their qualifications
3. Provision of training opportunities, development, rehabilitation and scholarship schemes for citizens in order to improve their skills and support their employment in different jobs.
4. The study and identification of labour market requirements for expatriates in accordance with the requirements specified in the laborlaw and to meet the needs of different sectors of the State.
5. Organization of the Labour Market andmonitoring the implementationof the labour law and the requirements relating to occupational health and safety andthe welfare of workers in the private sectors.
6. Implementation of internationaltreaties ratified by the State on workers, their recruitment, works and welfare.
Accordingly, the Ministry seeks to provide prompt and fast services to citizens, foreign workers, government agencies, institutions, and companies in the private sector so as to ensure accuracy in providing its services without any delay.To meet its responsibilities, The Ministry depends on the implementation of state employment laws to ensure the full employment of citizens in available jobs, and if there is no appropriate citizen for the job it recruits foreigners.
The Ministry is very keen on training and rehabilitation in various fields, particularly management training, vocational rehabilitation, technical training, and specialized training to provide national employees the largest possible number of jobs in State.The Ministry works with ministries, institutions and government bodies, companies and private institutions toprovide various jobs for citizens through creating new jobs and filling the vacancies available, and arranges with them todevelop appropriate job descriptions to ensure the priority of citizen's employment.
In this context, the Ministry is very interested in expanding the framework of the employment of women and providing jobopportunities for women in various fields through the opening of all work areas.
The Ministry adopts other projects to develop the capabilities and potential ofcitizens through various programs such as summer training programs for students in secondary level. These provide students the opportunity to train and become familiar with work sites during the summer holidays, Students receive a monthly payment and during the period are informed about working methods in the various sectors of the State, and they are given an insight into choosing their future jobs, business and the sector or institutions to work in.
The Ministry signs many agreements with private companies especially banks, insurance companies, and hotels to offer opportunities for both secondary and university graduates to receive scholarships to obtain higher degrees, and to provide a cadre with highly specialized fields to occupy leadership, supervisory andhigh-tech positions in the labor market.
The objective of the Ministry is to empower citizens to occupy high positions in ministries, institutions and other bodies in the government sector, corporations and institutionsin the private sector and to exercise leadership roles in the management of State activities and events, whether in the public or private sectors.
